The ISO 9660 File System Structure The exFAT File System Structure Benefits of the exFAT File System API Differences Between FAT and exFAT |
The exFAT File System StructureRTFiles-32 optionally supports the exFAT file system introduced by Microsoft in 2006 as a successor of the FAT-12/16/32 file systems. It is supported by Windows Vista since Service Pack 1, Windows 7, and all later Windows versions. For Windows XP, a free file system driver update is available from Microsoft to add exFAT support. The use of the exFAT file system with RTFiles-32 is optional. exFAT support is only included in library RtfilesX.lib, but not in library Rtfiles.lib. Please note that, at the time this release of RTFiles-32 was published, Microsoft had several patent applications pending for the exFAT file system, which may make a license from Microsoft necessary to use the exFAT file system. No such license is included with an RTFiles-32 license. The ISO 9660 File System Structure Benefits of the exFAT File System API Differences Between FAT and exFAT RTFiles-32 in Embedded Applications
