SNMP Agent
The RTIP-32 SNMP agent supports SNMP versions 1 and 2. Both versions provide the capability to retrieve and set the TCP/IP stack's internal configuration data. The SNMPv2 agent adds the capability to authenticate messages.
The SNMP module is an optional add-on for RTIP-32 and must be purchased in addition to RTIP-32 to be available. Applications requiring SNMP must include header file Snmpapi.h and link library Snmp.lib. The SNMP API is documented in the RTIP-32 Reference Manual.
SNMPv2 comes in two flavors: SNMPv2c and SNMPv2u. SNMP traps provide the capability for the agent to notify the SNMP manager when an event occurs (i.e. an interface going down).
